Plot Outline: Two psychotic young men take a family hostage in their cabin.
Plot: In this English-language remake of a deconstruction in the way violence is portrayed in the media, a family settles into its vacation home, which happens to be the next stop for a pair of young, articulate, white-gloved serial killers on an excursion through the neighborhood.
Crazy Credits: We know about 2 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
Outtakes play through the closing credits.
Goofs: We know about 1 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Audio/visual unsynchronized: SPOILER: The mobile phone the couple attempt to use to call the Police after their sons shooting is a Nokia. When switched on, a Nokia start up tone is used. However, the key tone is that of a Motorola (the tone is heard when they press the Call button after 911).
Trivia: There are 3 entries in the trivia list – like these:
- Director Michael Haneke also directed the Austrian original: Funny Games (1997).
- The production crew used the blueprints from the 1997 original. The set of the house in the 2007 American remake has the same proportions as that of the 1997 set.
- The film is a shot-by-shot remake of the original.
